Our Collection

The insect collection at Zamorano started in the mid-1980s and has now close to 200,000 dry specimens. The following groups are currently included in the database (2/VIII/2022): COLEOPTERA: Aderidae, Anthicidae, Anthribidae, Attelabidae, Biphyllidae, Brentidae, Callirhipidae, Carabidae, Cerambycidae (part), Cerylonidae, Chelonariidae, Coccinellidae, Corylophidae, Cryptophagidae, Cucujidae, Curculionidae, Dytiscidae, Dryopidae, Elateridae, Elmidae, Endomychidae, Erirhinidae, Erotylidae, Geotrupidae, Gyrinidae, Heteroceridae, Hidrophilidae, Laemophloeidae, Lagriidae, Lathridiidae, Limnichidae, Melandryidae, Meloidae, Mordellidae, Mycetophagidae, Nitidulidae, Oedemeridae, Orsodacnidae, Passandridae, Ptilodactylidae, Megalopodidae, Ochodaeidae, Passalidae, Ripiphoridae, Salpingidae, Scarabaeidae, Staphylinidae, Tenebrionidae, Trogidae, and Zopheridae.
